Malacañang todo-depensa sa appointment ni Ogie

MANILA, Philippines - Ipinagtanggol kahapon ng Malacañang ang pagtatalaga ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kay composer-singer Ogie Alcasid bilang convenor ng Edsa People Power Commission sa darating na Pebrero 25.

Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, normal lamang na italaga ni Pangulong Aquino ang mga kabahagi nito sa reporma.

Ayon kay Usec. Valte, karapat-dapat naman si Alcasid para maging convener ng EPPC dahil naaayon naman ito sa kanyang galling sa musika.

Magugunita na maging ang ama nito na si Atty. Herminio Alcasid ay itinalaga din ni PNoy sa Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC).

Si Alcasid ay kasama sa mga showbiz personalities na nangampanya kay Aquino noong May 2010 elections.

“It is natural for the President to appoint those who share the same vision for reform. Mr. Alcasid’s work in the industry will bear out his appointment as convenor for the entertainment and music sector of EPPC,” paliwanag pa ni Valte.

Bukod kay Alcasid, itinalaga din ni Aquino bilang miyembro ng Commission sina Phil. Daily Inquirer columnist Conrad de Quiros, dating DTI chief Jose Pardo, dating GSIS chief Cesar Sarino, adverti­sing executive Elimy Abrera, Christopher Carreon at Milagros Kilayko habang si Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. ang tatayong chairman ng EPPC.
