Pulitiko nanliligaw sa OFWs

MANILA, Philippines - Marami nang pulitiko ang nanliligaw sa mga over seas Filipino workers dahil umaabot na sa 700,000 ang bilang ng mga ito na malaki ang puwedeng maitulong para maipanalo ang isang kandidato sa halalan.

Ayon kay dating Senator Ernesto Herrera, Secretary-General ng Trade Union Congress of the Philippines, maraming OFWs ang naghahangad na makaboto kahit nasa labas sila ng bansa.

Hindi anya nakakapagtaka kung konting OFW ang bumuto sa halalan noong 2007 dahil hindi nakataya ang posisyon ng presidente at bise-presidente.

Sinabi ni Herrera na inaasahang mas maraming OFW ang lalahok sa halalan sa susunod na taon. (Malou Escudero)
