Mga opisyal ng PEA pinagbibitiw ni GMA

Pinagbibitiw ni Pangulong Arroyo ang lahat na miyembro ng Board of Directors ng Public Estate Authority (PEA) kasunod ng nabunyag na umano’y overpricing sa Pres. Macapagal Boulevard.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa pagdiriwang ng ika-45 Nursing Week at kumbensiyon ng Philippine Nurses Association Inc. sa Manila Hotel, sinabi ng Pangulo na hindi siya kumbinsido sa desisyon na ipinalabas ng Senate blue ribbon committee, kung saan nakasaad na maayos ang kontrata at dumaan sa tamang proseso bagaman may kataasan ang presyo ng naturang 8-lane boulevard na matatagpuan sa reclamation area sa Pasay City.

"Kaya dahil doon, hindi pa ako kuntento. I still wish to go to the bottom of the controversy, discerning the truth, identify the wrong doers if any, clear the innocent and possibly revamp the PEA for being embroiled in many scandals," sabi ng Presidente.

Pinasususpinde rin niya ang lahat na nakabinbin at mga naka-plano nang proyekto ng PEA hanggang hindi natatapos ang imbestigasyon.

"If there are members of the regular board of directors who wish to submit their resignation I shall be pleased to accept their resignation," anang Pangulo. (Ulat ni Lilia Tolentino)
