P1,000 na ang monthly social pension sa mga indigent seniors

Una sa tanan, kining gikan sa Philippine Star: “Distribution of the monthly stipend is expected during the first semester of the year, according to DSWD Assistant Secretary for strategic communications Romel Lopez.”

Dugay-dugay gyud ang atong paghuwat niini. Most probably, matud pa, masugdan kini og panghatag sunod buwan, karong Pebrero.

Ang pundo alang niining maong katuyoan, naaprobahan na ug nalakip sa 2024 national budget. Ang Republic Act 11916, o ang Social Pension for Indigent Seniors Act, nga ni-lapsed into law, niadto pang Hulyo, 2022 (kadugay na gud) mi-increased sa monthly pension gikan sa P500 ngadto sa P1,000, at least, aron dili kaayo ma-grabehan ang mga indigent seniors sa impact sa inflation, o sa pagmahal sa mga palaliton, sama sa bugas nga wala gayud ma-P20 ang kilo.

Ang pagpanghatag himuon matag semester, o matag unom ka bulan, sa ato pa, P6,000 ang madawat, kay sa P1,000 matag bulan (alkanse sa plite niadtong nagpuyuo layo sa población).  

Kinsa man kining mga indigent seniors nga mo-qualify sa pension? Ania: “It covers senior citizens who are “frail, sickly or have a disability, or those who have no permanent source of income and regular support from their family or relatives. 

“The elderly are considered eligible if they are not receiving a pension from the Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association or any other private insurance company,“ nagkanayon si Lopez. Ang  4,085,066 ka indigent seniors are covered by the program.

Ug aniay angay bantayan natong mga senior citizens, let’s be vigilant, kining mahitungod sa gipalakaw karon nga signature campaign alang sa pag-Cha-cha, nga matud ni election lawyer Romulo

Makalintal, “It is just as waste of time and paper, because these signature sheets, have no evidentiary value or cannot be the basis of an initiative.

“Signatures for people’s initiative cannot be submitted ahead of the filing of a petition for a people’s initiative.” Aduna na bay petition for a people’s initiative, nga gikan gayud sa ‘people.’?

By the way, ang gidudahan nga maoy nag-initiate sa people’s initiative (ug sa signature campaign), mipanghimakak sa maong allegation. Kon dili sila, kinsa man? Ang ‘people’ ba gyud?

Sa una natong mga lindog, nangutana kita kon kinsa nga ‘people’ ang miabaga sa tanang gasto niining maong exercise?

Nangutana uisab kita, nga alang sa katawhan, urgent ba gayud ang pagpahigayon sa Cha-cha, kon makapa-us-os ba sa presyo sa bugas?

Ania kining resulta sa survey nga gihimo sa OCTA Research Group: “Only one in every 100 Filipinos identified Charter change as an urgent national concern.” So, sa matag 100 ka Pilipino, usa ra niini ang miisip nga urgent ang pag-Cha-cha.

So, ang giingon sa nga daghan na ang mi-pirma sa signature drive, kinsa man kini sila?  t Apil ba kini sila sa “only one in every 100 Filipinos,” ang mi-consider nga urgent, alang kanila ang pag-Cha-cha karong panahona?

Ug kadtong naka-pirma na, nasayod ba gayud sila unsay ilang gipirmahan? Nasayud ba sila ngano ug unsay usbon sa Konstitusyon?  Or, have they even read and digested the 1987 Constitution?
