P81.6 million shabu seized in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P81.6 million was seized in an anti-narcotics operation that also resulted in the arrest of four suspects at the port of Batangas yesterday.

The suspects, aged 18 to 41, are residents of Malate, Manila and Maluso in Basilan, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philipppine Coast Guard.

PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said the illegal substance and the suspects were turned over to the PDEA.

Charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, the PDEA said. –
