CEBU, Philippines - Ang Visayan Electric Company (VECO) mipahibalong dunay pagsaka sa generation charge sa bayranan sa kuryente nga moabot og 85 sentimos karong buwana.
Ang pagsaka sa presyo sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) niadtong buwan sa Mayo ug ang adjustments sa National Power Corporation (NPC) maoy hinungdan sa pagsaka sa generation charge sa VECO.
Ang average WESM purchase nisaka gikan sa P4.8450 per kWh niadtong Abril ngadto sa P9.9578 per kWh sa supply period sa Mayo.
Matud pa ni Ricardo Lacson, VECO’s vice president for Customer Services, ang taas nga demand sa kuryente ug ang kakulang gihapon sa suplay sa kuryente didto sa Luzon nga nagkuha og suplay dinhi sa Visayas grid maoy mga nakatampo sa pagsaka sa presyo sa WESM.
Sumala pa niya nga ang VECO nagkinahanglan og 405 MW niadtong Mayo kumpara sa 349 MW niadtong Abril. “We just like to clarify that the rate impact came from generation. And it’s not VECO who is increasing, as matter of fact, there are no revenues going to VECO. It’s the generation companies who were increasing,” matud pa ni Lacson.
Gawas sa pagsaka sa WESM, magsugod na pud ang VECO sa pagpatuman sa NPC- Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) generation adjustment nga bag-uhay lang gi-aprobahan sa Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) nga P.60 sentimos per kilowatthour.
Malaumon si Lacson nga moubos ang demand sa kuryente sa sunod buwan tungod sa pag-usab sa dagan sa panahon.
“We expect that the demand would go down because it’s already cold season and the power plants were repaired already and there’s no scheduled repair for these plants,” niya pa. (BANAT NEWS)
