3 Pinays killed in Malaysia car crash

MANILA, Philippines - Three Filipinas were among those killed in a car crash in Malaysia earlier this week.

According to a report by bernama.com, the official portal of Malaysia's national news agency, the car carrying the three Filipinas and three other foreign nationals went out of control near Kampung Pandan at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

This caused the car to ram into a concrete pillar of a flyover before bursting into flames, the report added.

The report identified the Filipina fatalities as Siso Aileen, 30; Maileen Tentative Montejo, 26; and Mary Grace Macaraig, 24.

In an interview with ANC, Johann Veronica Andal, the Philippine Consul in Malaysia, said the the bodies of the victims were severely burned beyond recognition.

Andal said they are communicating with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila to request the families of the victims to provide DNA samples to be used in matching the identities of the remains.

The official assured that assistance will be given to the victims' families and their remains will be repatriated back to the Philippines.
