10 'distressed' OFWs return home from KSA
MANILA, Philippines - Ten distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia arrived home Friday night after availing themselves of the government's repatriation program.
A report from the Philippine News Agency said that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration announced that the 10 OFWs arrived via Etihad Air flight EY-428 that landed at Terminal 1 at 10:30 p.m. The flight came in from Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The OWWA added that these OFWS had documentation problems while working at the oil-rich kingdom. While awaiting the processing of their exit papers, the OFWs stayed at the halfway houses provided by the Philippine Embassy in the KSA.
