Villar Sipag, GoNegosyo hold entrep summit for OFWs, families
MANILA, Philippines - Migrant Filipino workers and their family members gathered on Friday at the World Trade Center in Pasay City for an entrepreneurship summit led by the Villar Sipag (Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance) and GoNegosyo.
The event, titled 'Kita at Ipon, Palaguin at Pagyamanin sa Pagnenegosyo,' focuses on agri-business and will be dedicated to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Saudization policy.
The Saudization policy is a scheme that favors employment of Saudi nationals over foreign workers.
Sen. Cynthia Villar of Villar Sipag leads the summit, which will feature speakers from the Department of Labor and Employment and the agribusiness sector.
Topics will also include business opportunities, financial literacy, franchising, direct selling, real estate salesmanship, product consignments and distributorship.
There will also be games for OFWs and their families with prizes that include a house and lot from Camella, one motorcycle and a LED TV from KServico, five Aling Puring's sari-sari store packages, 10 pangkabuhayan appliances from Savers, 50 dealership certificates and 10 gift packs from Dakki, 10 gift packs from Ever Bilena and two Kettle Kart businesses.
