2 Philippine choirs bring home 3 golds from Indonesia
MANILA, Philippines - Two Philippine choirs finished among the top in the recently held3rd Asia Pacific Choir Games in Manadao City, Indonesia.
The Department of Foreign Affairs reported that St. Paul College of Parañaque Himig Bulilit Choir took home a gold medal for winning the games' Children's Choir Open Category held at the Sintesa Peninsula in Manado City last October 14.
The Saint Louis University Glee Club of Baguio City, meanwhile, snatched two gold medals after topping the Folklore and Mix Choir Group categories held in Sultan Raja Hotel last October 18.
The choir competition is the largest event of amateur choirs in Asia organized by the Interkultur-Germany.
The DFA said 150 choirs from 18 countries participated in the event. The other countries that sent groups to compete were Australia, China, Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, South Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, and United States.
