BOC posts highest monthly collection in agency’s history
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno attributes the record-breaking collection results to strengthened revenue monitoring, improved Customs administration and the collective efforts of bureau personnel across the country.

MANILA, Philippines — Despite a decline in import volume, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) recorded P97.463 billion in collections in October, the highest in its history.

Based on preliminary data, the October 2026 collection was P14.501 billion higher than the P82.962 billion collected during the same month last year.

According to the BOC, it also achieved 99.42 percent of the P98.028-billion revenue target for the month.
Total collections from January to October 2026 reached P853.662 billion, “the highest for the first 10 months of the year in the agency’s history.”

This figure exceeded the P846.522-billion target by P7.140 billion, and P69.029 billion higher than the P784.633 billion collected during the same period in 2025.
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the new records are the result of tighter collection monitoring, better customs administration and the concerted efforts of Customs personnel nationwide.
“Every record we achieve reflects the dedication and hard work of our Customs personnel nationwide. My heartfelt thanks to all our Collection Districts for their tireless efforts and commitment to delivering results. Every peso we collect has an equivalent service that can be delivered to our countrymen. This gives greater meaning to our work,” Nepomuceno said.
He expressed confidence that the BOC would reach its P1-trillion total revenue collection for 2026.

“In the remaining two months, we are counting on the continued support and proper payment of duties and taxes by our stakeholders so that together we can achieve this historic target for the nation,” he added.

The BOC still needs to collect over P157 billion in November and December to reach its P1.011-trillion full-year revenue target.

To achieve this, the agency said it will further focus on revenue monitoring, strengthening customs enforcement and pursuing reforms that expedite the processing of legitimate trade and ensure the proper payment of duties and taxes.
