Apple reseller opens in Consolacion as demand grows beyond Cebu City

CEBU, Philippines — Power Mac Center is expanding its Cebu footprint with a new outlet in Consolacion, targeting growing demand for premium technology beyond the province’s established urban centers.

The new store at SM City Consolacion gives the Apple-focused retailer access to consumers in northern Cebu, as mall development and rising household spending create new markets for technology products outside major cities.

The expansion reflects a growing shift in Philippine retail, where brands are increasingly moving into provincial commercial centers to capture demand closer to where consumers live and work.

“Technology has become less about having a device for a particular task and more about having tools that can keep up with the many things we do in a day,” said Joey Alvarez, Power Mac Center’s director for marketing and product management.

The retailer’s new outlet, located in the mall’s Cyberzone, carries Apple devices and accessories as well as other digital lifestyle products targeting professionals, students, entrepreneurs and creators.

For Power Mac Center, the move adds to its existing Cebu network, which includes outlets at Robinsons Galleria Cebu, SM J Mall and SM Seaside City Cebu.

The expansion comes as provincial cities and municipalities become increasingly important to retailers seeking growth beyond established metropolitan markets. Cebu, in particular, has benefited from continued commercial and residential development outside Cebu City, supporting a wider consumer base across the province.

Power Mac Center, which has operated in the Philippines for more than three decades, now has more than 140 retail branches, service centers and training centers nationwide.

The company’s growing provincial footprint reflects the changing geography of Philippine technology consumption, as retailers seek to make premium devices and services available closer to consumers rather than concentrating expansion in the country’s largest urban centers.
