Team Stallions posts another Top-4 finish at CrossFire EWC
MANILA, Philippines — Team Stallions continued to establish itself among CrossFire's global elite after securing another fourth-place finish at the Esports World Cup (EWC), battling some of the world's best teams in Riyadh.
Representing Saudi Arabian organization Team Stallions, the all-Filipino roster once again proved it can compete with the game's traditional powerhouses, overcoming a difficult group and reaching the semifinals of the prestigious tournament.
The Filipino squad opened its campaign in Group A with a 2-0 victory over Vietnam's Geekay Esports before falling to eventual group winner Brazil's Team Liquid, 2-1, in the upper bracket semifinals.
Dropped to the lower bracket, Stallions kept their tournament hopes alive with a 2-1 win over Evolution Power, securing one of the group's qualification spots for the playoffs.
Their momentum carried over to the knockout stage.
Facing Brazil's ROC Esports in the quarterfinals, Stallions delivered a convincing 2-0 sweep to advance to the semifinals, where Team Liquid awaited once again.
The rematch turned into one of the closest series of the tournament. Liquid drew first blood on Ankara, 13-11, before Stallions answered with a dominant 10-2 win on Sub Base. Liquid reclaimed the lead with a 13-10 victory on New Mexico, but the Filipinos forced a deciding fifth map after routing their opponents, 10-1, on New Compound.
With a spot in the grand finals on the line, Stallions pushed Liquid to the limit before narrowly falling, 10-8, on Port to bow out of championship contention, 3-2.
Despite the defeat, the result marked another significant achievement for the Filipino squad, which has steadily built a reputation as one of Southeast Asia's strongest CrossFire teams. The roster once again found itself among the final four teams standing in a field that featured established international contenders such as Team Liquid, BaiSha Gaming and KINGZERO-esports.
With another Top-4 finish in the books, Team Stallions now turns its attention to qualifying for the CrossFire Stars 2026 Grand Finals, set for December at the Wuhan Sports Center in Wuhan, China, where the squad hopes to improve on its runner-up finish last year and finally raise a global Crossfire trophy.
