MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has postponed the deactivation of the eKonsulta system that will replace its expanded primary care package, Yaman ng Kalusugan Program or Yakap.

To assist Yakap clinics transitioning to a PhilHealth-accredited electronic medical record service provider, the eKonsulta system will continue to function until year-end.

PhilHealth advised Yakap clinics to continue uploading files after every transaction and maintain complete and accurate patient records to prevent payment backlogs.

“Only accurate patient claims are validated and processed,” the state health insurer said.

Yakap offers free outpatient services, including consultations, laboratory tests, cancer screening and essential medicines to members.
