TNT, Ginebra clash for all marbles

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The defending champions TNT Tropang 5G and the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings will settle their unfinished business once and for all in Game 7 of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals today (Wednesday, June 17) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.

The Tropa lived to fight for another day with a 98-90 victory in Game 6.

With the best-of-seven series tied at 3-3, another thrilling battle looms ahead as the two sides clash for all the marbles.

Chris McCullough, seeking his second PBA trophy after powering San Miguel Beer to the Commissioner’s Cup crown back in 2019, is expected to give his best shot anew as TNT aims for back-to-back titles.

Standing in their way is Ginebra’s equally-explosive import Justin Brownlee.

After misfiring in their previous game, Ginebra coach Tim Cone firmly believes that his local stars, particularly RJ Abarrientos, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, and Stephen Holt, are due for a good shooting performance in the decider.

“We’re going to feel good about ourselves going into Game Seven. We know we can take this, and we’re going to go for it,” said Cone.

On the other side, TNT can count on Jordan Heading, RR Pogoy, Jayson Castro, Rey Nambatac, and Glenn Khobuntin to back up C-Mac in their quest to keep their throne. — (FREEMAN)
