Special holidays declared in 3 areas

MANILA, Philippines — One area each in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will enjoy a special non-working holiday this month for the celebration of local anniversaries and a cultural festival, according to Malacañang.
June 15 is a special non-working day in Bontoc, Southern Leyte for the celebration of the town’s founding anniversary according to Proclamation 1289.
Proclamation 1290 declared June 22 a special non-working day in Malapatan, Sarangani, allowing residents to participate in activities marking the town’s 57th founding anniversary on June 21, which falls on a Sunday.
“The Sangguniang Bayan requested that June 22, a Monday, be declared a special non-working day in lieu of June 21,” the proclamation read.
June 24 is a special non-working day in Balayan, Batangas for the Parada ng Lechon as provided under Proclamation 1291.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto signed the proclamations on June 4 by the authority of President Marcos.
