Conclave to elect new pope will start May 7 — ANSA

VATICAN, Holy See — Catholic cardinals meeting in Rome on Monday agreed to begin on May 7 the conclave to elect a successor to Pope Francis, according to ANSA news agency.

On Wednesday next week, the cardinals will take part in a solemn mass at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, after which those eligible to vote will gather in the Sistine Chapel for the secretive ballot, which can last several days.
