6 drug suspects arrested in Cotabato

COTABATO CITY , Philippines —  Six suspected shabu and marijuana traffickers were arrested in separate stings in Cotabato City on Thursday.

Reports from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro region said among those arrested were a couple who sold PDEA agents shabu with an estimated street value of P34,000 and dried marijuana worth P1,400 in Barangay Rosary Heights 1.

The anti-drug operation was conducted in coordination with members of the Cotabato City police, according to Gil Cesario Castro, chief of the PDEA-Bangsamoro region.

Meanwhile, Cotabato City police chief Col. Jibin Bongcayao said three men were also arrested in another sting in the same village.

The suspects did not resist when police officers collared them.

Bongcayao said another drug suspect was arrested after he sold shabu to undercover agents in nearby Barangay Poblacion 4.
