Osmeña: Garma nagdawat og P1M kada semana

CEBU, Philippines — Bisan sa mubo kaayong oras nga gihatag kang kanhi Cebu City mayor Tomas Osmeña isip resource person sa House of Representative hearing bahin sa illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogos) ug extrajudicial killings (EJKs), susama og bomba ang gipabuto niini didto.

Unang mipadayag sa hearing si Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog kinsa boluntaryong mipatim-aw sa hearing quad-committee hearing.

Si Mabilog emosyonal nga misaysay sa nahitabo kaniya sa dihang siya gipasanginlang drug protector sa ilang siyudad atol sa administrasyong Duterte. Sa iyang luyo si Osmeña nga nagsige og tapik sa iyang abaga agi og pagpakita og suporta.

“The same person also told me and I happened to put it on print that she would be appointed to the PCSO and I have the newspaper clipping on that…While she (Garma) was still the police chief of Cebu, I predicted in the newspaper that she would be made PCSO chief. That shows the reliability of my information… Now, so it's not because of politics, it’s because of a woman,” si Osmeña nagkanayon.

Si Osmeña nagkanayon nga sa sunod nga hearing sa QuadCom kalabot sa EJK, andam siya mohatag og dugang pa nga impormasyon kalabot niini.

“But just to give you a teaser, it’s not only drug suspects were killed, there were policemen that were killed and there were other people that were jailed, innocent people, jailing students, SK officials preventing them from voting. These are all documented,” sumala sa kanhi mayor.

 “The vindictiveness was so strong and the influence of Colonel Garma was so strong, she was able to convince the Ombudsman to suspend me for one year because I came to the rescue of three poor vendors who were being harassed by the police and I put them under my custody. Why should they be jailed for minor violation?” matud pang Osmeña.

Hinuon sa gipagawas nga desisyon kagahapon, gilibkas sa Ombudsman ang suspensyon. “Decision just came out today. I'm no longer suspended. I'm not even mayor anymore.”

“But this is the kind of situation that many people in Cebu are so relieved. That there is a group like this committee who is making them aware and they're cheering that justice will prevail and there will be these people,” puno pa sa kanhi mayor.

 Gawas kang Garma, dihang gipangutana bahin sa POGO, si Osmeña nagkanayon nga aduna siyay mga gidudahan niini dinhi sa Sugbu sama sa raid niadtong Mayo 2019 sa siyudad sa Lapu-Lapu.

“The unusual thing about this raid is after one week, the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) that raided , who was (led by) a very new commander from Metro Manila, was suspended,“ matud ni Osmeña.

Ang gipasabot ni Osmeña mao ang raid sa usa ka gituohang POGO sa Lapu-Lapu niadtong tuig 2019  nga gipangulohan ni Police Col. Lito Patay, hepe sa CIDG sa Central Visayas adtong tungora. Human sa maong raid, girelibohan si Patay.

Si Deputy House speaker Laguna Representative Dan Fernandez mitingog sab bahin niini nga mihulagway nga murag dunay “pattern.”

“That information that you have gotten about the operation of Pogo kapag na-raid nare-relieve ang mga opisyales. I think that is quite true,” batbat pang Fernandez.

Si Osmeña milakbit sab paghisgot sa pangalan ni kanhi Office of the President Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) Michael Dino nga gikabalak-an niyang dunay koneksyon sa mga tawong konektado sa POGO.

“There is also a very big development in Cebu City today… Billions of pesos being spent in a multi high rise buildings and nobody seems to be aware of what's going on. And it is owned, allegedly by someone who is very influential with the Duterte administration which is Michael Dino, former presidential assistant,” batbat pa sa kanhi mayor kinsa wala mobutyag kun asa kini nga mga buildings.
