NEW YORK — The United States, Japan and South Korea are warning North Korea against any provocative acts at the upcoming 70th anniversary of the country's ruling party.
Secretary of State John Kerry and the Japanese and South Korean foreign ministers met Tuesday on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly to discuss regional issues, including the threat posed by North Korea. South Korea's top diplomat Yun Byung-se said it was "very important for us to send out a very clear and very tough message to North Korea so that there will not be any misjudgment and misbehavior."
North Korea is expected to stage its biggest celebration in years on Oct. 10, and there's speculation it could launch a rocket to advance its fledgling space program.
