YANGON (Xinhua) - Myanmar will promote bilateral relationship with the armed forces of the US and Japan, state media reported Saturday.
Myanmar and the US delegation exchanged views on the present democratization process and reform process of Myanmar, human rights issues, peace-making processes, constitutional affairs, and releasing farmlands confiscated by the armed forces, said the New Light of Myanmar.
Topping their discussion was the promotion of bilateral ties between the armed forces of the two nations.
It was touched upon when Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Defence Services and Thomas Malinowski, Department of State Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour of the US, in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
According to official report, in a meeting with Japanese delegation on the same day, the two sides focused on exchange of trainees to attend language courses between the armed forces of the two countries, holding of friendly sports matches and promotion of bilateral ties between the two armed forces.
