BANGKOK — Thai police say 28 Russian tourists were injured after a bus crashed into a small hill near a popular tourist site.
Police Col. Bandit Muangsukham said Saturday that 44 Russian passengers, along with three bus crew members, were traveling to a cave in Kanchanaburi province on Friday.
He says the driver told police he suddenly lost control of the steering wheel before the bus veered into a small hill and flipped onto its side.
He said 25 passengers were slightly injured and three suffered serious injuries.
The bus was traveling from Pattaya, a seaside town in eastern Thailand, on the way to Krasae cave in Kanchanaburi, 180 kilometers (110 miles) west of Bangkok, when the accident happened.
