Mexican boys killed for mocking trafficker' s son

The Philippine Star

MEXICO CITY — Authorities in western Mexico say two teenagers were killed for making fun of the son of a drug kingpin who was their classmate.

Jalisco state prosecutor Luis Najera says police found the boys' bodies buried in a wooded area outside the city of Guadalajara. They two 15-year-olds were last seen 10 days ago at a shopping mall in Zapopan, a Guadalajara suburb.

Najera says a teenager detained in the case led police to the bodies and told investigators the victims were killed for making fun of the son of imprisoned drug kingpin Jose Carrasco Coronel. The army has identified Carrasco Coronel as the leader of the Sinaloa cartel in the states of Jalisco and Colima.

Najera said Tuesday police are still looking for other suspects, including Carrasco Coronel's teenage son.
