Kerry, Netanyahu talk on reviving Israeli-Palestinian peace talks
JERUSALEM (Xinhua) – US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu here Saturday on reviving Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, local media reported.
The Prime Minister's office, however, didn't comment on the reported meeting between Kerry and Netanyahu.
Kerry travelled back to Jerusalem from Jordan after US President Barack Obama left the country for home, winding up his four-day Middle East trip.
In the Jordanian capital of Amman, Kerry held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to explore ways of restarting the peace talks, the report said.
During his visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories , Obama called for a quick resumption of the peace talks but offered no new peace proposals.
The Israeli-Palestinian peace talks have stalled since September 2010 after the Israeli government refused to extend a freeze on settlement construction in the occupied Palestinian territories.
