SK INTERMURALS: Bulacao, Cebu City holds first ever sportsfest

CEBU, Philippines — The first ever Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City SK Intermurals, an inter-sitio sports competition, kicked off with a bang recently.

In holding the purposeful activity, Bulacao Brgy. Capt. Junah Babatuan-Abellanosa emphasized the importance of the youth engaging in sports as a positive alternative to drugs, encouraging the to be active and involved as their participation is vital for building a stronger, better Bulacao.

Abellanosa expressed her gratitude to the SK Council, headed by Junbert Bacalso, for their efforts in organizing the event.

“Together, we can foster a healthier and more united community with this great sportsfest, a first of its kind,” said Abellanosa.

For his part, Bacalso shared that this sporting endeavor spotlights their commitment to supporting the needs of the youth as much as possible.

“Rest assured that we will continue to provide better projects and activities aimed at benefiting the young people of Bulacao,” said Bacalso. “With unity and hard work, we will ensure a brighter future for the youth of our community”.

The other members of Bulacao SK Council are Jamaica Abellanosa, Janel Baculi, Jame Ronel Abellana, Genesis Campo, Margo Mahusay, Mayette Maluntad and Mary Fritzie Llagas together with Miles Casio (secretary) and Gerey Dacalos (treasurer).

Staged in partnership with OBRA Events & Productions of Macy Gaviola, the maiden Bulacao sportsfest features basketball, volleyball (regular and dayon-dayon), badminton, billiards, scrabble and chess.

Meanwhile, Creshia Cereño of Sitio San Roque bested a bevy of equally lovely ladies to be crowned as Miss SK Bulacao Intermurals 2024. Jasia Durog of Sitio Lower San Roque and Jianshe Dellera of Sitio Peace Valley Homes claimed the first and second runner-up honors, respectively. – EBV
