JV Ejercito on FOI bill, wage hike and foreign residency

The controversial divorce bill, tabled for decades, finally passed the House of Representatives.

A party-list lawmaker has filed a bill that will penalize local government officials who practice favoritism in giving out cash, livelihood and relief assistance.

The House Bill 9349 or the Absolute Divorce Act recently approved by the House of Representatives may be violating the 1987 Constitution, former Buhay party-list representative Lito Atienza said yesterday as he warned senators against supporting the measure.

A bill mandating private higher education institutions to waive college entrance examination fees and charges of poor but qualified students has lapsed into law. 

A measure establishing the Bulacan Special Economic Zone and Freeport and creating its management board has lapsed into law.
