Cory Aquino: Portrait of a Woman

- Vernadette Joven -

MANILA, Philippines -- A 200 by 250 feet photo mosaic consisting of 3,200 pictures depicting the life of late former president Cory Aquino was unfurled by family, friends, supporters and student volunteers from PLM on the eve of her first death anniversary.

Created by STAR photojournalist Ravoli Cortez, the photo mosaic was initially intended as a tribute during Tita Cory’s 77th birthday but due to lack of funds and materials they had to buy more time before they were able to complete the the 2-million project.

According to her only son, now President Noynoy Aquino, who led the unveiling ceremonies, the photo mosaic serves as a symbol of hope that each one has a role to play in building a whole nation and a reminder to remain steadfast in continuing the fight for change.
