Remembering Filipino Heroes

MANILA, Philippines – In observance of the Araw ng Kagitingan and the Philippine Veterance Week, the Province of Cavite and the multi-agency task force recently held a “Tribute to all Filipino Heroes” in Corregidor Island.

With the theme “Beterano: Huwaran ng Lahing Pilipino,” the celebration honors all our heroes from the time of Lapu-Lapu to the Katipuneros of the Philippine Revolution, the World War II soldiers and guerillas and even the participants of the EDSA Revolution.

The veterans, along with their families, government representatives and other civilians flock to Corregidor to pay tribute, remember the sacrifices and triumphs and walk the path that these brave Filipinos took to fight for our freedom and democracy. Read related article
