2 Philippine seafarers injured in drone attack now home

MANILA, Philippines — Two Filipino seafarers injured during a drone attack on Cameroon-flagged oil tanker M/V Blue returned to the Philippines on Wednesday night.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the seafarers flew in on a Turkish Airlines flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The drone attack on M/V Blue, with 18 Filipinos onboard, occurred in the Black Sea on July 8, causing a fire and damaging the ship’s stern and engine room.
The seafarers received financial assistance from the government to help in their recovery from their injuries.
Three other injured Filipino seafarers have been moved out of the vessel and are receiving treatment at onshore medical facilities, the DMW said.
