Unique Visita Iglesia

-

MANILA, Philippines - Seven beautiful churches in Bulacan and Pampanga are featured in a unique Visita Iglesia scheduled on Maundy Thursday, April 9. Giving a new dimension to the usual Lenten devotion, the tour takes participants in air-conditioned buses to Bulacan, specifically the historic Barasoain Church in Malolos, site of many important events in the country’s valiant past. In Pampanga, the devotees will be brought to the province’s beautiful Catholic worship sites — Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Apalit, with its majestically crafted ceiling (photo) and home of the famous Apung Iro; Church of San Guillermo in Bacolor; Church of St. James the Great in Betis, Guagua; Church of the Immaculate Conception, also in Guagua; Church of St. Augustine in Lubao; and the Metropolitan Cathedral in San Fernando. The tour fee is only P1,500 per person, inclusive of buffet lunch. Reservations are now accepted at La Isla Pilipinas Tours Inc., 426-0093 and 436-6581, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or 0917-8274518 and 0917-5270606 after office hours.
