First GM of all-new Dusit named

Dusit International has announced the appointment of Prateek Kumar as the first general manager of the all-new Dusit Thani Manila.

“After completing the hotel’s extensive renovation, we immediately started our search for the ideal candidate. With Prateek’s notable experience in luxury hotels in Singapore and most recently, working as general manager for a newly opened deluxe hotel, we knew he had the right energy and enthusiasm to re-launch the hotel,” said Gerhard Kropp, regional vice president of Dusit International and president of Philippine Hotelier’s Inc., owning company of Dusit Thani Manila.

“In my 13 years in the hospitality industry, I have always pursued perfection. Now that I am entrusted with Dusit International’s flagship, I point toward giving perfection a new meaning. Dusit Thani Manila will be all about redefining the benchmark of product and service excellence in the hotel industry using the gifts of heaven, thus creating heaven on earth,” Kumar said.

Kumar has a Diploma in Catering and a Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management from the Griffith University in Australia. Prior to this appointment, he was responsible for the successful pre-opening of Ascott Raffles Place, a luxury all-suite hotel in the heart of Singapore’s financial cityscape. He also worked for Raffles Group, Starwood and the Renaissance Group.
