BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The body of the driver of a rescue vehicle-at the onslaught of Agaton-was finally found Wednesday at the Iglamgam River at Barangay Tadlong in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, two days after he was reported missing on January 1.
Police identified the victim 33-year-old Ronnie Soberano, a resident of the barangay.
Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City Police chief, on Thursday said Soberano was washing his feet in a concrete overflow, when he accidentally fell into the water, got carried away by the strong current, and drowned.
On the other hand, the search continues for Eric Villarito, who was also reported to have been carried away by a strong current on Jan. 1, while he was crossing the Winaswasan River at Barangy Macasilao in Calatrava town of Negros Occidental.
Initial investigations of the Calatrava Police showed that Villarito was on his way to the Macasilao barangay proper, when he was reported missing, while crossing the river. (FREEMANNEWS)
