1 killed, 3 injured in road accident

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A man died when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a car and crashed into a van early Tuesday morning at Oton town in Iloilo.

Wilfredo Ravena, Jr., 24, of Barangay Sambaludan in Oton, was declared dead on arrival at The Medical City in Molo district of this city.

Ravena’s two backriders and a front rider were also injured: two 15-year-old boys, one of whom was his brother, and 24-year-old Jino Dapilmoto.

Police investigation said the victims were riding a Suzuki  Smash  motorcycle (license plate FA 95344) and was navigating Barangay Trapiche going to Cabanbanan when the incident happened.

Wilfredo reportedly overtook a Fuso Super Great wing ban on the approach of a highway bridge, but hit an incoming car, then swerved to ram into a van.

The van’s driver, Leo Balino, 27, of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, surrendered to the police after the incident. (FREEMAN)
