LP members invited by opposite party

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines – Councilor Antonio Remollo, a presumptive mayoralty candidate of the Liberal Party for the 2016 elections, disclosed that he was being invited to join the Nationalist People's Coalition and complete its slate of councilors.

Remollo said he wanted Councilor Manny Arbon, also of the LP, to be his tandem for the vice mayoralty but the latter was also offered to join the NPC's roster under its mayoralty bet, incumbent Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling.

Remollo said everybody knows that he and Arbon are LP members, and that an NPC-LP coalition in this city will not work, otherwise a free-zone will be declared here where both parties are fielding candidates for all positions.

In an earlier interview, Arbon said he was pleased to hear the NPC invitation but, for now, he said he is still an LP stalwart.
