PALO, LEYTE, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways-Region 8 has activated its yearly Lakbay Alalay for motorists during the observance of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day around Eastern Visayas.

DPWH-8 Regional Director Rolando Asis said his office, for this Lakbay Alalay program, had installed booths in strategic places in the region to help and guide motorists during the Undas celebration this year.

The program started on Wednesday and will end on Monday, November 3, said Asis, adding that this is being carried out in coordination with law enforcers who are assisting motorists and travelers who are going to and from the cemeteries to visit their departed loved ones.

Asis said he instructed all district engineers of the provinces of Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, (Western) Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte and Biliran in Eastern Visayas to assign their respective Lakbay Alalay teams to their designated stations.  — Primo A. Cayubit (FREEMAN)
