15 cops indicted in slay of civilian
CEBU, Philippines - Fifteen members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit and Special Action Force will face charges of grave misconduct and serious neglect of duty during a shooting incident between one of two warring families and the police at Guimbal town in Iloilo late last month.
The shooting had resulted in the death of a certain Eliseo Bilbao and the wounding of two others, according to a GMA7-Iloilo report yesterday.
Facing grave misconduct charge are: (from the CIDU) Inspectors Fernando Salvatierra and Renoli Bagayao, Senior Police Officer 2 Alberto Sombilon, SPO1s Ben Napoleon de Guzman and Aldrin Ligan, and Police Officer 1 Malvin Mocorro.
Others who were from the SAF are: Inspector Rengie Deimos, Police Officer 3s Jerson Corvera and Agustin Macahilig, PO2 Harry Langpawa, and PO1s Jay-Ar Belisario, Danny Donglal, Mario Bago, Ericson Dasalla and Jonel Ngawoy.
Facing serious neglect of duty charge are Bagayao, Sombilon, de Guzman, Ligan and Mocorro of CIDU; and Deimos, Macahilig, Corvera, Langpawa, Belisario, Donglal, Bago, Basalla and Ngawoy of SAF. — From the wires
