Councilor hunted for shooting teenage boy
CEBU, Philippines- A councilor of Badiangan town in Iloilo is now the subject of a manhunt operation for allegedly shooting and wounding a reportedly drunken teenage boy Friday evening.
Councilor Gilfred Oremo has yet to send any surrender feelers to authorities, said Senior Inspector Dennis Pamonag.
Oremo's alleged 17-year-old victim is still recuperating at Western Visayas Medical Center for an injury on his back.
Investigation showed the victim and another teen friend were on their way to a store to buy liquor when they met the councilor.
The three, all residents of Agusipan village, even chatted for a while. Oremo then decided to leave the two at a waiting shed and boarded his motorcycle.
The drunken boys decided to get branches of tree then lined them up in the middle of the road, but Oremo went back and got mad upon learning that the two placed the branches to block motorist.
But instead of apologizing, the boy "arrogantly answered back," prompting Oremo to grab him by the collar.
A grappling ensued between the two until Oremo pulled his hand gun and shot the boy. The councilor quickly left the scene and went into hiding, to this day.
