P24.8M Siquijor port terminal rehab up this year
CEBU, Philippines - The DOTC had approved the P24.8 million budget for the rehabilitation of the Siquijor town's port terminal building that was destroyed by typhoon Pablo in December 2012.
This was revealed by Mayor Mei Ling Quezon of Siquijor town capital of Siquijor province, who earlier requested the DOTC secretary for the project, after the Municipal Council approved a resolution requesting for a speedy rehabilitation of the terminal.
Quezon told The Freeman that the Central Visayas Regional Development Council also passed Resolution No.10, seriesof 2014, urging the Philippine Ports Authority to expedite the construction of the terminal building in Siquijor Port, which was the gateway of tourism and economic development in the island-province.
Quezon said budget was approved by Deo Leo Manalo, director of the Project Development Services Office of DOTC in Manila and addressed to PPA general manager Juan Sta. Ana. (FREEMAN)
