BACOLOD CITY, Philippines— Three policemen in the region are now in "hot water" after they tested positive of illegal drugs use in a surprise drug test.
This was confirmed yesterday by Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, director of the Police Regional Office-6 saying that the policemen are now under investigation.
He said that the policemen will face criminal and administrative charges and possible dismissal from service if they were found guilty.
While he refused to reveal the identities of the policemen, Angan said his office had been conducting surprise drug tests in Western Visayas since he assumed the directorship last year. He added that the drug tests are part of the campaign of the Philippine National Police against illegal drugs.
Earlier, the National Police Commission-Region 6 probed three members of the Bacolod City Police Office-Special Operations Group after they were accused of allegedly receiving bribe money from illegal drugs financiers in this city. (FREEMAN)
