Teen nabbed in drug bust

CEBU, Philippines - An 18-year-old son of a chief village watchman was arrested in a buy-bust operation just outside their house in Barangay Calacaan, Dueñas, Iloilo.

Clark Allan Lagdamin, a high school dropout, was arrested Saturday by members of  Dueñas Police Station with eight sachets of  dried marijuana leaves worth P400.

According to Insp. Bonifacio Alabe, Jr., Dueñas PNP chief, Lagdamin has been put under surveillance after they received a tip from a high school student alleging his involvement in marijuana trade.

"We came to know that he's been pushing marijuana to high school students in Dueñas town," Alave added.

Lagdamin allegedly did not deny the allegations hurled against him.

Alabe said the suspect claimed he got his supply from the nearby Pototan town but declined to name his source.

Meanwhile, his father told policemen he had doubts about his son's work and just wanting to catch him on the act.

The suspect, he added, is considered as the black sheep of the family because of some misdemeanors at a young age.

In 2011, the young man figured himself in a stabbing incident in Barangay Romblon, Dueñas.

He then went to Luzon to cool things over. But in Antipolo City, he was again involved in a stabbing incident.

He went back to Dueñas in 2013. Again, he stood as suspect in another stabbing episode.

Lagdamin's father admitted that they had an amicable settlement to the two stabbing incidents in Dueñas.

Alabe added that Lagdamin has been involved in a number of fracas in Dueñas.

He and some friends were also suspected to be behind the cable wire theft in the area.  —  /JMD (FREEMAN)
