DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The Police Regional Office-Region 7 (PRO-7) has named Sr. Supt. Mariano Natuel the new OIC director of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOrPPO), replacing Sr. Supt. Alet Virtucio.

Natuel is the current chief of the Personnel and Human Resources Division of PRO-7, while Virtucio, who had served NOrPPO for several months after the May 2013 elections, will be transferred to the PNP Crime Lab at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Chief Supt. Danilo Constantino, PRO-7 director, told The Freeman that Natuel yesterday made a courtesy call on Governor Roel Degamo.

The new provincial police head will be officially installed in a turnover ceremony, conducted by Sr. Supt. Orlando Oulat, PRO-7 deputy director for operations, at Camp Fernandez in Sibulan town.

In a related development, Constantino said PRO-7 is still awaiting the confirmation of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) of the list of three qualified police officials from whom Degamo will choose to be the next director of NOrPPO.

Constantino said no reason was given on why it took long for NAPOLCOM to issue the confirmation so the list can be submitted to Degamo. — (FREEMAN)
