Biz establishments must have CCTVs

Juancho R. Gallarde - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Starting this year, business establishments in Dumaguete City are required to set up closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their respective places as part of measures to deter the occurrence of crimes in the city.

City administrator William Ablong said the requirement is for businesses to execute an affidavit of undertaking that they shall put up the CCTVs within 120 days starting today, before any business permit can be issued to comply with the provision of a city ordinance.

This developed as the city government has set up the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) outlet at the City Hall to provide taxpayers convenient access for application and renewal of business permits from local and national agencies.

Business establishments are also required to register their employees, including job order workers, with the Social Security System, Pag-IBIG and PhilHealth. (FREEMAN)
