DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The Negros Oriental Provincial Police force has been assured of additional logistics and personnel to beef up its anti-crime campaigns, according to the Police Regional Office-7, headed by its director, Chief Supt. Danilo Constantino.
Constantino said PRO-7 eyed the downloading of policemen from the Regional Public Safety Battalion to police stations in Negros Oriental needing additional police personnel.
The Dumaguete City Police and other stations will be receiving Glock firearms after documentation procedures, such as identifying those policemen who have no firearms. The recipients must also pass the proficiency firing test first, said the police official.
On mobile patrol vehicles, Constantino said Negros Oriental will receive its share of the 2,000 units of patrol jeeps procured by the national leadership. "We can recommend to the PNP hierarchy which stations in Negros Oriental should be given priority for these, but the final decision will be made by Camp Crame." — (FREEMAN)
