Dumaguete poll winners take oaths on June 30
DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The winning candidates in the recent elections for various posts in this city are set to take their respective oaths of office on June 30.
Representative George Arnaiz (2nd district, Negros Oriental), who is the provincial chairman of the National Peoples Coalition (NPC) party, will administer the mass oathtaking of the elected mayor, vice mayor and councilors.
The NPC bets dominated the winning column in the May 13 polls in this city, led by Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria and Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling. Eight NPC bets won as city councilors along with two from the Liberal Party..
Arnaiz will administer the oathtaking of Sagarbarria and Maquiling, and then the ten elected city councilors:
NPC's Franklin Esmena Jr, Jose Victor Imbo, Nilo Sayson, Salito Erames, Peter Catan, Lani Ramon, Manuel Patrimonio and Danilo Leon, and LP's Antonio Remollo and Manuel Arbon.
The mass oathtaking rites will be conducted following a Holy Mass that will be celebrated by Cathedral Rector, Rev. Msgr. Julius Heruela. Sagarbarria will then deliver his inaugural address with Arnaiz, and then the inaugural part at the Quezon Park. (FREEMAN)
