Comelec-Iloilo City proclaims winners
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Liberal Party reelectionist candidates Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and lone district Rep. Jerry Treñas together with Top 6 partymate's for the City Council were officially proclaimed as winners by the City Board of Canvassers at exactly 3:00 p.m. yesterday at the Iloilo Social Hall here.
Comelec-Iloilo City supervior Jomar Betita has certified that the votes have been duly canvassed in the precincts for the candidates for various posts in the city during the May 13 elections.
Betita announced that with 93 percent completion of canvassing of results, Mabilog garnered 125,414 votes over his opponent Rommel Ynion who got 58,751 votes. On the other hand, Treñas had 119,653 votes over former congressman Raul Gonzalez Jr's 61,630 votes.
Betita also proclaimed the Top 6 winners for city councilor: Incumbent Nielex Tupas (113,302 votes), Lady Julie Grace Baronda (97,974); Jayson Gonzales (94,229); Joshua Alim (93,134); Jose Efrain Trenas III (88,386); and Lyndon Acap (87,745).
The City Board of Canvassers has yet to proclaim incumbent Vice Mayor Joe Espinosa III, who had 94,755 votes over Councilor Jeffrey Ganzon, pending the results of the remaining seven percent of the votes to be canvassed.
Other bets for councilor, waiting to be proclaimed winners for the remaining six slots, depending on the outcome of the completion of canvass, were: Ed Peñaredondo (76,724 votes); Inday Lee Zulueta (72,861); Boots Gerochi (72,826); Armand Parcon (71,901); Rodel Agado (70,146); and Plaridel Nava (65,017).
