Danny B. Dangcalan - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A total of 463 policemen, soldiers, teachers, and media practitioners in this city and Negros Occidental province were slated to participate in the three-day local absentee voting, starting April 28 to 30.

Provincial elections supervisor Wil Arceño said these absentee voters, who had registered earlier, will be allowed to vote for senatorial and party-list groups only, and only in the manual mode.

Of this number, 13 are members of the press while one is an employee of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), who will vote at the Bacolod Comelec office, Arceño said, adding that policemen and soldiers will vote in their respective camps.

Meanwhile, Arceño said all of the 2,044 precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines for Negros Occidental are now secured by the police in an undisclosed Bacolod warehouse. These will be tested and sealed on May 10. (FREEMAN)
