Guard kills firm manager

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A security guard last Tuesday shot to death a sales manager of a Manila-based company at the BREDCO Reclamation Area, police said.

Mark Barrientos, 34, of Kabankalan City, and an employee of the Golden Summit Security Agency, immediately fled after allegedly shooting Valeriano Agpulos, 52, of Malabon City, according to City Police Station 2 chief, Senior Insp. Robert Dejucos.

Agpulos, sales manager of the Red Maple Company, died on the spot from a gunshot wound on his head, Dejucos said, adding that policemen have launched a manhunt operation against Barrientos.

As of press time, the motive for the shooting was still being investigated because the witnesses who saw Barrientos and Agpulos arguing would not give statements, he added. (FREEMAN)
