DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines  – Police in Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental have arrested the no. 1 most wanted person in that town recently, according to a media release Monday by the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOrPPO).

The suspect was identified as 79-year-old Teodorico Paradero, alias Decoy, a widower and resident of Barangay Tagino in Vallehermoso, said SPO1 Edilberto Euraoba III, information officer of NOrPPO.

Paradero was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Hector B. Barillo of the 4th MCTC La Libertad-Vallehermoso, last January 13, 2000 for the crime of rape, docketed as criminal case no. 2475.

A team of the Vallehermoso Police Station, led by SPO1 Ramiro Gocotano, arrested Paradero at 4:20 p.m. last November 22, said Euraoba.

Paradero, who topped the list of 10 most wanted persons of Vallehermoso, is now in custody of the Vallehermoso Police Station and will soon be committed to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of the town.

NOrPPO director Sr. Supt. Edward Carranza lauded the efforts of Vallehermoso Police Station headed by the town police chief, Insp. Neolie Laturnas, for “actively implementing the flagship programs of the PNP one of which is the accounting of most wanted persons,” added Euraoba.  (FREEMAN)
