ANTHEM. A member of a youth group calling itself the "Hope of the Fatherland" said "it is only proper" that Fil-Am athletes wearing jerseys bearing the Philippine flag should know how to sing the Phl national anthem in the national language.
CAN't SING. In an open forum held in Manila very recently, this member of the youth group expressed "great disappointment" that most, if not all, Fil-Am athletes do not know how to sing the national anthem, let alone the lyrics in Tagalog, according to an Ear source present in the Manila forum.
TIGHT-LIPPED. The same member of the youth group said: "The Fil-Am athletes are mostly tight-lipped when the anthem is sung in an athletic or sports meet."
