DISASTERS. After the 7.2-magnitude earthquake last October 15, disasters have remained to be the favorite theme in people's everyday conversations. Immediately after that quake, one Cebuana mother, according to our Ear informer, was heard saying: "Bahala na'g magbagyo, basta ayaw lang gyud nang linog."
SUPER TYPHOON. The mother, in her 40s, however gets what she wished for. Expected to make a landfall in Visayas today is Super Typhoon Yolanda, which as forecasts have said, is very likely to follow a route passing Cebu. The same mother was now heard saying: "Simbako, di lang unta ta maigo sa bagyo." Hearing this, the informer scratched his head.
